S T A Y I N G   A T   P A L M E R V I L L E    C A M P   G R O U N D S

Cannibal Creek Camp is located on Whites Creek Road, 135km north of Mareeba via the Mulligan Highway. Turn left at the Maytown historic ruins sign and follow on until -16 degrees12’09″S144.25’06″E

On site camping is available.  Being in a highly remote area, you will need to be self-sufficient with all supplies including food, water, and accommodation. A fist aid kit is also highly recommended.  Contact with Cannibal Creek Camp is via UHF 14.

Small dogs up to 10kg can stay on Palmerville Station. We ask that you keep a close watch on your dog as there are baits in the area, so bring Fido along for the fun. Fires are restricted to one central location at the camp grounds. Your own power source is welcome and we suggest that it’s use is limited during the day only. Internet access is limited due to the remote location – be advised that outages are frequent.

Welcome to Palmerville. To fossick and camp at Palmerville Station, you require a Queensland Government Fossicking Permit. This is a legislative requirement. Once you have your individual or family Fossicking permit, you can apply for ' consent to fossick ' at Palmerville Station. 

Palmerville Station has stipulated that the designated camping area for gold fossicking is at he Palmerville Camp Grounds.

At this time it is self sufficient camping. Some facilities are available, however, the designated camp site will be fully operational by the end of April 2023.
